So, here’s the deal

Alrighty, then, Skyler is not quite in bed yet but her daddy is here now so he can work on that project while I work on this one – not that putting her to bed is much work – she’s so sweet when she says “nigh night” from her crib as we close the door and turn out the lights. So onto this Chevy Traverse business!

Here’s what’s crackin’:
Along with four other KC-area mommy bloggers, I get to test drive a brand new Chevy Traverse for 8 weeks. The first 4 weeks I get the LS model, which is the base. There is nothing really base model about it though – it has everything I’m used to and more (like SPACE!). Once the first 4 weeks has passed, I will be delivered a new LTZ model, which is the top of the line with all the fixin’s. Woot!

In return for the free 2 month test drive, I just have to talk about it. And what better way, than to blog! So I’ll be blogging here some, but moreso over there, at www.mommymadnesskc.com, where the other 4 mommies will also be blogging! Also look for some likely-to-be-awkward video blogs by yours truly. We got hooked up with these handy little Flip video cameras, so I’ll be trying my hand at that soon enough.

In addition, there are some fun incentives including free one-hour massages at Massage Envy, grocery store gift cards, and a trip to a Royal’s game. I’m sure this will be terribly rough.

Lastly, though I’m sure I’ll have lots more on this later, THIS IS A CONTEST. I need votes to win. What do I win? Besides being voted KC’s fave mom blogger, I’ll get a couple rooms at Tan Tar a and a hefty amount of spa bucks to share with a few girlfriends. Or just me. We’ll see, bribes welcome. It’s On!

It’s official, I’m part of the Chevy Traverse Kansas City Mom Squad, and sitting right outside in my driveway is my lovely brand spankin’ new Chevy Traverse! I’ve got lots to say and do, both here and there at www.mommymadnesskc.com, but there is dinner to be made and a child to look after. I think she’s currently walking around on the living room couch, a big NO-NO in this house because we prefer to avoid cracking our little heads open on the coffee table. Digital Mom

I guess that is the new term for my demographic. It was a feature on the Today’s Show earlier this week, and they even had one of the funny mommy bloggers that I recently started following. It’s kind of exciting to have an official classification like this, because I always just thought I was geekier than most moms!

It has been a bit challenging being a digital mom as of late, because our wireless Internet at home has been acting up again so I haven’t been able to get online much. But here are a few quick updates from our world:

- Skyler is walking more than she is crawling! She’s figured out it’s a fun way to get from here to there. It is so dang adorable.
- Oops, I did it again – went to another NKOTB concert earlier this week! In Tulsa. Yes, I traveled to get there. And it was worth every one of the 250 miles I drove to get there.
- I entered that mommy blogger contest this week and I cannot stop thinking about it. I really hope I win! I’m nervous though because I entered my email into their “news/updates” form and there was a website error, so I hope that my actual registration for the contest went through. I didn’t receive any email confirmation, so I’m a little nervous.
- I also signed up to be a team leader for the American Heart Association walk at the end of May. I will be fundraising and trying to recruit others to join me. I am super excited to be a part of this now, and will be walking in tribute of Skyler! I’ll be setting up a fundraising website and campaigning in the near future, so please, join me for the walk or donate!

KC Mom Bloggers Contest

My coworker sent me a website link and then I heard the same commercial on the radio, so I had to check it out. There is a contest for Kansas City area “mommy bloggers” to test drive a new Chevy Traverse for 8 weeks and blog about it. Since I am already in the market for a new, bigger vehicle, of course I will enter this! The following is what I entered for my “50 words or less” of why I should be chosen (they’ll pick 5 winners):

#1 – I love to blog!
#2 – I’m already searching for a newer, bigger vehicle than my Jetta since I do 99% of transporting my daughter around town.
